What should I eat for breakfast to stay full?

Rather than a specific food, think of it as a formula: protein first, a bit of fibre, a small amount of fat, and not much that digests in ten minutes flat.

In practice, that usually means building the meal around one solid protein source (eggs, yoghurt, smoked fish, cottage cheese) and treating anything from a box as a supporting player rather than the main event. A bowl of cereal isn’t off-limits, but it works far better as a side than as the whole meal.

A rough shape that tends to work for a lot of people:

Protein: 2–3 eggs, a generous serving of Greek yoghurt, or a portion of fish.
Something with texture and fibre: vegetables, herbs, a few beans, or a slice of wholegrain toast on the side.
A small amount of fat: a little cheese, or whatever you’re cooking in.

That's most of an omelette, which is exactly why it comes up so often here: it's simply an easy, repeatable way to hit all three in one pan without having to think it through from scratch each morning. The underlying point is the formula, not any single ingredient, but there's a reason one meal keeps covering it more reliably than most others do.

If you’re regularly hungry again within an hour of eating, that’s usually the first thing worth checking: not how much you ate, but what it was actually made of.
